Bavaria Cup 2020

Bavaria Cup is a sailing regatta, which takes place annually in the waters of one of the most picturesque cities in Croatia — Biograd na Moru. It is located on the coast of the Pašman Strait of the Adriatic Sea, where there are ideal conditions for active sea recreation and, of course, for sailing. Stable winds, clear water, comfortable temperature all year round — all this contributes to unforgettable sailing competitions and pleasant yachting. Such conditions are ideal for beginners who take their first steps in yachting.

For the first time, the regatta took place in 2007 and since then it has been annually attracting sailors from the former post-Soviet space, and more recently, from other countries of the world — amateurs and professionals who are preparing for a really competitive race. The competition takes place in several controlled fleets of monotype yachts provided by the organizers. In 2014, the event was attended by a record number of yachts — 40, twenty in each of the two monotypic divisions. More than 300 yachtsmen from Russia, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, Ukraine, the USA, Germany, Croatia, Turkey took part in seven planned races.

Many of the buildings in Šibenik are white — built using Brac stone, which is mined on the Croatian island of Brac. The White House in Washington is also faced with this stone.
