Mile building: UK TO ST TROPEZ VIA GIBRALTAR

This sailing milebuilder departs from Cowes in the UK and sails south west towards the Channel Islands then onwards around the Bay of Biscay. From there we sail down the Portuguese Coast then around Southern Spain before arriving in Gibraltar after 12 days.

A short lay over in Gibraltar the sailing adventure continues east along the Southern Spanish coast towards the fantastic Balearic Islands with a stop over in Palma de Mallorca before crossing back over along the South Coast of Spain and France before arriving in St Tropez.

This milebuilder delivers our yachts into the Mediterranean for the race season. Additional legs are available from St Tropez to Malta, ahead of the Middle Sea Race, from Malta back to Gibraltar and then finally from Gibraltar out to The Canaries; ahead off the ARC transatlantic crossing. You will gain hundreds of sea miles and passage experience as well as RYA qualifications, skippered passages and watch-keeping skills. You could also use these trips to qualify for your RYA Yachtmaster.

You will be part of the watch system and will be expected to take an active role in sailing the yacht, cooking, general onboard housekeeping and lookout duties.

You will have the opportunity to get skippered passages, log ocean miles and receive expert tuition in passage making, professional skippering skills and navigation instruction.
