Athens - Aegina
The largest island in the Saronic Gulf. In the ancient chronicle it is mentioned as the birthplace of sea pirates. The main attraction of the island of Aegina is the Temple Of Athena Aphaea. Legend has it that the daughter of Zeus, in order to avoid a wedding with the king Minosos, had to flee from Crete, throwing herself into the depths of the sea. She fell into the net of a fisherman who fell in love with her. But the girl did not like this union either - she simply disappeared into the air, for which she was nicknamed Afaya - who disappeared without a trace. The image of Aphaia was gradually immortalized with Athena in the form of a magnificent temple.
