About the event

The training to improve racing skills, which will also include distance competitions.

Istanbul is a large metropolis with a great history. It is situated on the banks of the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. The Bosphorus Strait divides the city into European and Asian parts. There are beautiful Princes' Islands nearby. We invite you to study yachting in Istanbul, see the city from Bosphorus, visit historical and cultural sights before or after the course. In the evenings, we will go to good restaurants with delicious cuisine.

WHO THIS TRAINING IS FOR:

for beginner racing skippers;
for yachtsmen with experience of participation in regattas who want to learn how to work on each position in the team, including the helmsman, and improve their skills and understanding of what is happening on the boat in every position.

THE TRAINING PROGRAM INCLUDES:

• Teamwork - everyone’s roles on the yacht and areas of responsibility

• Preparation of the yacht and the crew for leaving the marina, safety

• Theoretical preparation for competitions

• Theoretical analysis of situations in races, watching the videos, explanations

THE MAIN THING IN THE TRAINING PROGRAM IS TO LEARN TO WORK ON EVERY POSITION DURING REGATTAS AND PRACTICING WHAT YOU’VE LEARNT:

• Sail setting for the full course of the mainsail and staysail

• Setting and putting away the gennaker and the spinnaker in different ways

Competition experience is a necessary element of training for participation in regattas. Training in competitions is more effective than training without a competitor. This preparation is necessary for those who are serious about their hobby, have ambitions to be able to do more and move towards victory.

9.00 - Meeting at Setur Marina. 09: 00-13: 00, 14: 00-17: 00 - training with a break for lunch for 1 hour, analysis of the day in the evening. One day, when there will be little wind, we will sail along the Bosphorus Strait to see Istanbul from the Bosphorus and have lunch in a delicious rustic restaurant, it’s very beautiful everywhere. We will also visit the Princes’ Islands, there are excellent fish dishes and a beautiful sunset.
