Inshore Skipper Course (Coastal Skipper License)

The Inshore Skipper is a coastal skipper (bareboat skipper) license that allows you to operate a sailing yacht with an auxiliary engine up to 24 meters in length, at a distance of up to 20 nautical miles from the nearest safe haven, both during the day and at night.

This type of license is the most widely recognized in the yachting community and, combined with a VHF radio license, enables you to charter yachts in almost any part of the world.

To obtain this license, you will need to:
— Complete a 30-hour theoretical course and successfully pass the final test. The course can be taken in person, online, or through self-study followed by an exam. If you have confirmed sea experience, it is possible to take the theory exam externally.
— Complete a practical training course at sea.

• sailing techniques
• basics of meteorology
• reading and applying weather forecasts from various sources
• VHF radio operation
• emergency communication procedures via VHF
• use of pyrotechnics in emergency situations
• man overboard recovery
• organizing life onboard
