Improving your racing skills

Istanbul is a large metropolis with a great history. It is situated on the banks of the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. The Bosphorus Strait divides the city into European and Asian parts. There are beautiful Princes' Islands nearby. We invite you to study yachting in Istanbul, see the city from Bosphorus, visit historical and cultural sights before or after the course. In the evenings, we will go to good restaurants with delicious cuisine.

THE TRAINING PROGRAM INCLUDES:

• What is on the yacht, how to live on it, personal safety.

• Travel planning, route safety

• Learning the 5 essential knots

• Preparing the yacht and a crew to leave the marina

• Introduction to sailing safety (signs, lights, sound signals)

• General understanding about the mooring of the vessel, leaving and approaching the shore

• Mooring and unmooring

• Work with sheets, and halyards

THE MAIN THING IN THE TRAINING PROGRAM IS TO LEARN TO WORK ON EVERY POSITION DURING REGATTAS:

Sharp courses

• Tacking

• Setting the mainsail and staysail for tacking

• The work at the steering wheel

• The work of the crew

• Turning quickly and efficiently

• How to achieve the optimal roll and what is optimal roll

• Sail setting for the full course of the mainsail and staysail

• Setting and putting away the gennaker and the spinnaker in different ways

WHO THIS TRAINING IS FOR:

For those who have little experience in regattas, and who want learn to work as a skipper and a helmsman. There will be rotation in a team for each role depending on the skills and the goals of training.
