Saimaa Lakes. Practice for IYT Bareboat Skipper-5 certificate

Good practice for the IYT Bareboat Skipper certificate and for those who can already take the boat on an independent charter, but are not confident in their navigation skills and the ability to moor a yacht under all conditions.

Also suitable for the Yachtmaster Coastal in matters of navigation and route planning.

Saimaa lakes are the best place to start the yachting season in the Baltic. While in the open waters it can be still cold and too windy, in Saimaa it is always calmer and warmer. You can safely work out maneuvers, navigation and laying the route without fear for the materiel.

Of course, given the peculiarities of local geography, you can completely relax only on land, because there are probably no such number of signs of the navigational fence as in Finnish skerries anywhere else. Saimaa constantly keeps in good shape, constantly need to make turns and evaluate signs and lights. The practice of navigational practice here is considered equal to a week in the Mediterranean, where, God forbid, at least once meet a buoy.
Sailing in Finland is still particularly comfortable from the point of view of infrastructure, almost every third of the Finnish family has some kind of vessel and this affects. Even on the smallest islet, a place to relax will be organized, where you can easily fry kebabs or independently caught fish, a free sauna and the opportunity to plunge into a clean lake, electricity and water in larger parking lots. Separately, we note that in addition to good practice, this is a great vacation, chic clean nature with a very interesting coastline. After a good day's work, you can safely sit with a glass of something like that on a yacht or on the beach, enjoying white nights and sunsets.
