Cyprus International Sailing Club
The club was founded at the end of 2017 by active yachtsmen of Cyprus, athletes and skippers, keen on sailing people.
The main goal of the club is the popularization of yachting, sailing, and the formation of the teams to participate at any level offshore regattas.
In December 2018, the club has more than 80 members who came from beginners and now are participating in the different sailing activities. From Cyprus Championships, Rodos Cup, Aegean Regatta, Rolex Giraglia, Cyprus— Israel Race; passed the unique for Cyprus — European Sailing Championship ORC 2018.
We bring Olympic and world champions to teach our members and organize masterclasses to develop different skills. We hold exciting quests at sea, our training and club races in the waters of Limassol.
We invite other yacht clubs, that are ice-bound in winter, to train on our boats and exchange experiences. Cyprus is almost the only European country where the comfortable sailing season does not stop. Even in the winter, the average temperature during the day is 18-20 °, water 17 °.

This carbon-fiber, epoxy built Maxi racer is featuring a sail area-to-displacement ratio that’s nearly off the charts. With an adjustable keel (canting keel), rotating mast, and forward daggerboards, Cometa is one of the marvels of the Open Class, which fosters enhanced performance through design freedom and innovation.
Open 60s of this variety are designed for pure speed over relatively short distances. Designed by Maurizio Cossutti, Cometa sports 2,905 square feet of upwind sail area, but displaces a mere 16,500 pounds, including a 7,000-pound adjustable keel. That gives this carbon-fiber and epoxy vessel a sail area-to-displacement ratio that’s nearly off the charts, somewhere in the high 50s, depending upon how much mainsail roach you care to calculate.
