Training to become an Inshore skipper ISSA is possible after completing the Yacht Crew ISSA course
Course program:
Navigation and cartography.
Calculation of the total compass error.
Observation techniques (dead reckoning methods and observed positions).
General information about the Mercator map.
Characteristics of beacons and navigational signs.
Route planning and working with sailing directions.
COLREG-72.
Tidal waters (tables, almanacs, calculation rules, current atlases and diamonds).
VHF radio communication and use of a half-duplex station;
Basics of maritime English using the phonetic alphabet.
Introduction to synoptic meteorology and weather forecast analysis.
Controlling a yacht under motor and sails.
All basic ship maneuvers, including MOV.
Practical mooring skills.
Organizing the work of the ship's crew, maintaining a logbook, planning watches and acting in emergency situations. General planning of sea crossings at any time and weather conditions up to 6 points on the Beaufort scale.
Interaction with representatives of charter companies and port services. Analysis of insurance and non-insurance cases.
According to ISSA standards, this certificate entitles its holder to operate a motor-sailing vessel up to 24 meters long in the daytime and at night, at a distance of 20 nautical miles from the coast and in winds of up to 27 nautical knots.
Certification Inshore Skipper Sail 150 euro, Inshore Skipper Power 150 euro VHF Radio Operator (Short Range Certificate) $100.
